SEPARATE AUDIO ROUTING CONTROL BETWEEN ROOM & CAMCORDER AUDIO

Please note that on the audio mixer you are going to want to split the audio to adjust the audio levels for the room independently of the audio levels going to your camera.

The best and gold standard is using an audio mixer that has an Aux Send capability. If the venue does not provide an audio mixer with Aux Send, simply ask them. They still may not but in some cases they may be able to provide one.

An audio mixer with Aux Send offers flexibility to handle all audio situations whether traditional vMix/Wirecast webcast or Zoom Webinar audio routing.

BEST | AUX SEND TO CAMERA XLRS

  • Main Out goes to room amplification - typically set to Unity

  • Aux Send to Camera

  • Aux Master Volume at Unity

  • Adjust channel pots on Aux row for each channel to bring up/down levels for used microphones.

  • If there is a PRE/POST button - set for POST which means adjustments to audio for channel level pots will also affect the Aux Send. That way you're increase quiet audio for both the room and the camera at same time (once you have general aux settings set)

GOOD | R/L SLIDERS

Right Main out slider going to and controlling room audio levels | Left Main Out typically set to Unity. Going to camera. Adjust channel pots for each channel to bring up/down levels for used microphones.

OK | MAIN/PHONES

DIFFICULT | 2X MAIN OUTS
