In a nutshell: Mute all instances of Zoom application in Windows volume mixer. Have speaker watch so they understand what's happening to revert back. Done.

WINDOWS VOLUME MIXER

SPEAKER MUST BE IN ZOOM BEFORE DOING THIS PROCESS!

You need to go to Windows Volume Mixer on the speaker's laptop and I would insist that YOU take over the mouse.

Important: Have the speaker watch as you do this process. You're gonna want to revert this change back at the end of the event date but in case you forget - the speaker understands how to revert back or or they're screwed in Zoom Meetings!

  1. Locate the speaker icon on the windows task bar (typically lower right corner)

  2. Right click on the speaker icon and select Open Volume mixer

You can also access this by Windows+R and type in "sndvol"

  1. Hover your mouse over the right edge of Volume Mixer until you see the mouse change into expander.

  2. Pull to the right to expand the Volume Mixer so you see all currently running apps that use sound.

  3. Click on the speaker under anything marked with Zoom. There may be more than a single application marked as Zoom

ZOOM SHARE DIALOG WHEN SPEAKER HAS VIDEO CLIPS

  1. Make sure Speaker's SlideShow is active already

  2. Click on Share Screen button in Zoom on SPEAKER'S LAPTOP

  3. Select the screen/display where the Slideshow shows as thumbnail

  4. Select Share Sound (Do not click on Optimize for video clip initially) at bottom left.

  5. TEST! Have speaker test play video clip via Zoom Screen Share. ONLY if the video clip playback is choppy at VIDEOGRAPHER LAPTOP, return to the SPEAKER'S LAPTOP and do the following:

    1. Stop Screen Share

    2. Share Screen (At top of Zoom share dialog, select the screen/display where the speaker's slideshow is on)

    3. Check Optimize for video clip (and Share Sound is still checked also). Verify now that video clip plays smoothly at VIDEOGRAPHER LAPTOP

Only click on Optimize for video clip if the video playback on VIDEOGRAPHER LAPTOP is choppy

It is extremely important to do a sound check with CE21 for Speaker presentation video/audio clips even if you've already done a microphone check.
